Because it would not be hard to break things in knit holder I'm going to knit the basic "shell" of the case first. It's going to look nice, and be colorful, and stuff because it's the outside. Then I'm going to knit a padding. The padding will go on the inside of the case. It doesn't matter whether or not it looks nice, it only has to be thick, and it has to b able to protect the iPod from harm.

The outside is going to be a pretty mixture of blues, purples, and blue-greens. One of my favorite yarns. It is not too thick, but isn't too thin either.
The inside is going to be a thick black that has other colors (Blue, Purple, and Green) in it. Another of my favorites :) I don't have very much of this color, so if I run out I'm going to use plain black.

I don't have an iPod touch yet, so I'm only guessing about how big this should be. If it's too small it could be a cell phone holder. I am using size 10 needles, my favorite size, but I believe you can use any size.

Ok, so lets start on the pattern.

1. Take color one (C1) and cast on (CO) 15 Stitches (ST) (remember we have to make this a little bit big so we can put the lining in. Also remember that knit things can stretch.)
2. Knit for seven inches. (7")
3. Bind off (BO)
4. Cast on (CO) 13 Stitches (ST) of color two (C2).
5. Knit for knit fir six inches (6")
6. Bind off (BO)
7. Sew the lining onto the outside, then sew all but one side of the outside.
8. Add a button, or a tie to keep it closed, now you have an iPod holder!Betta Sharkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176234405620165288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6983468364771259258.post-82915995014719664852011-05-26T09:54:00.000-07:002011-05-26T09:54:36.009-07:00Mother's Day.I admit it. Meep, and I have been very distracted lately, and haven't been posting. So I'm going to try and see if we can get this blog going again.

My Dad had a weekend long class, and he had given a friend of his a bag of dog fur. His friend had spun the fur, and given it back to him.
So when my Dad got home he snuck me the yarn. He asked me to knit a scarf for my Mom for Mother's day. So, on Mother's day MORNING I finshed the scarf. And I also made a small bookmark for my Grandmother.
The pattern on the scarf was simple.

1. CO 25 ST.
2. Knit for about an inch. (You can use any Knit/Purl pattern you want. I used all knit, no purl.)
3. Start BO 1 every row, until you have 15 ST.
4. Knit to desired length.
5. CO 1 every row until you have 25 again.
6. Knit for an inch.
7. BO.

The yarn I used was made out of the fur of our dog. Good luck getting dog-hair yarn :)Betta Sharkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176234405620165288noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6983468364771259258.post-11955052936862553702011-04-03T10:02:00.000-07:002011-04-03T10:02:02.995-07:00Easter Eggs! *CHALLENGE*This month's challenge is not as simple as a few of the past ones have been. Knit an Easter egg! I have never knit an Easter egg before, and I am not even sure if I have the right needles and stuff to make any. So make try this out! If you can't make an Easter egg, for any reason, just make something spring themed! I want to hear what you make! Current Challenge ends: April 24th.Betta Sharkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176234405620165288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6983468364771259258.post-33002016713301512132011-03-12T16:20:00.000-08:002011-03-12T16:20:23.947-08:00Almost done!Remember the wallet I was making? The original 36 stitches is the perfect size for my tank-top, if I make two of them! Then I'll just make straps. And I'll have a tank-top! Probably for dance. So, how's the challenge going? Has anybody done it yet? Well I've gotta go. Meeeeep is at my house, we're knitting a lot tonight! Pattern:

1. Cast on 30-75 stitches onto double-pointed needles. Depending on who you're making the hat for you will need more or less stitches than the 50 I used..
2. Knit until you think it's ready to start binding of a stitch or two every row.
3. Bind off completely when you're done. Then sew the tope together.

And you've made a hat! No, I'm not kidding, that's the pattern....................Betta Sharkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176234405620165288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6983468364771259258.post-26325867375366080052011-01-23T12:01:00.000-08:002011-01-23T12:01:16.753-08:00Wallet *PATTERN!*I was think about what I should knit. I couldn't decide. So I was looking through a knitting book I have and found a pattern for a wallet! Then I thought, hmm, I bet I can change this pattern a bit so I can make a really cool wallet! I have made a wallet before, but it was actually a failure. It's completely awful, and the funny part about it is, I still have the wallet! So now I have a new pattern that I'm trying out, and I decided to give you a chance, too! My pattern may be a bit confusing, as it has a pocket for change. I also add the abbreviations to all my patterns, and there meanings, so people can learn them if they don't know them!

First you'll need the colors you're going to be knitting with. I am making a Black and Red wallet right now, because those are my favorite colors! I'm knitting with size 10 needles, but any size will likely work. I am going to be sewing everything in CB (color B) which is red, and the main body of the Wallet is going to be CA (Color A) which for me is black.
1. CO (Cast on) 36 ST (Stitches) with CA (Color A).
2. Knit until the piece measures 6". (One inch longer than two dollar bills stacked on top of one another.)
3. BO (Bind Off).
4. Fold in half and sew the sides with CC (Contrasting Color).
5. CO (Cast On) 15 ST (Stitches) with CB (Color B)
6. This piece of the pattern may need to be P (Purled), as it makes a tighter ST (Stitch). At least it does in my expirence! ST ST (Stockinette Stitch) will work as well. If you can't purl, then Garter ST (Garter Stitch is just your normal knit ST (Stitch ;)) will work just fine!
7. Knit, Purl, or ST ST(Stockinette Stitch) until piece measures 5".
8. BO (Bind Off).
9. Sew the new square onto the original piece, leaving the top open.
10. Now the fun part! fold the piece into thirds and figure out where you want the button. Sew the button on in the place.
11. Attach a piece of yarn to make a button hole.
12. Do step 10 and 11 to the change pocket, then just add money!Betta Sharkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176234405620165288noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6983468364771259258.post-29474566190769807472011-01-21T15:30:00.000-08:002011-01-23T12:08:35.047-08:00Fishy! *Pattern!*This is a pattern I altered. Meep found a pattern online about how to make fish, and this is an altered version of the Angelfish! Very easy, and if you're looking to sell them they go fast! CA, and CB are optional. You may use only one color, or you can knit stripes! I, personally, prefer to use two different yarns at once, then switch to two other yarns.

*1. CO (Cast On) 14 ST(stitches) with CA(Color A, or Color one.).
2. Knit three rows in ST ST(Stockinette Stitch).
3. Continue in the ST ST, but DEC one(Decrease one) every normal knit row until you only have 6 ST left.
4. Knit 3 more rows in ST ST.
5. Now switch to CB(Color B, or Color two).
6. CO 6 ST. Knit that row. CO 6 ST. Knit second row.
7. Knit 4 rows ST ST.
8. BEG(Begin) DEC one every row. Normal knit rows, until you have only 2 ST.*
9. Anything in between "stars" means repeat those steps!
10. Sew the two together, and stuff.
11. Steps 9-11 are completely optional! Meep and I are successfully(and accidently) selling the half fish! :O

Have fun with this pattern!Betta Sharkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176234405620165288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6983468364771259258.post-30526769892837838882011-01-18T10:23:00.000-08:002011-01-18T10:23:40.838-08:00Animal Shelter IdeaAre there any animal lovers who would like to help animals, while knitting? Well then you're reading the right post! An idea hit me last night. A 4-H group in my area ask people for knit squares, then they make blankets for people in homeless shelters. Now I'm the kind of person who cares more about animals than about humans..... So I didn't really want to use up my yarn in this project. I have. So I came up with the idea of asking people to knit squares, any size. I'll sew them together to make a blanket, and after we have a few blankets we donate to the animal shelter! If you know anybody in your area who knits ask them to help you! And it doesn't have to be for the animal shelter if you care more about people than animals. Bye!Betta Sharkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176234405620165288noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6983468364771259258.post-84595431387254862322011-01-12T17:13:00.000-08:002011-01-12T17:13:08.952-08:00CHALLENGE!This Challenge ends on Heart Day! I know I've posted already today, BUT I'm making a pattern right now! It's for a star ornament. It's soooooooooo easy, and fast!

For the main star parts:
CO 2 st.
R1. Knit
R2. CO 1 more st. Knit row.
R3. CO 1. KR.
R4. CO 1, KR.
R5. CO 1, KR.
R6. Knit.
R7. BO.
*Note: Leave a tail on both ends of each triangle!

See? Easy! Now knit 5 of those, then:
Tie the tails (did you leave them?) together. Yes, you have a big hole in the middle. GOOD.

So, you have a star-shape..... WITH A HOLE IN IT?!?!?!
Yup, now knit a 20 st, by 20 st, square. Sew that on the back of the star, and Voila! A knit star :)
Now!! Add a loop of yarn at the top so it can be hung on a Christmas tree :)Betta Sharkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176234405620165288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6983468364771259258.post-7457866436756384002010-12-19T12:25:00.000-08:002011-01-23T12:04:54.488-08:00Knitter's block?Knitter's Block.... what a terrible thing! Yes, I made it up.... It's like Writer's Block in Knitters. Has anybody had Knitter's block recently? With the holidays, and such, I haven't known what presents to start! So now, with Christmas 6 days away, I have made/wrapped:
Two presents which I cannot put up in case my parents decide to read this blog :)
and a stuffed cat.

I've wrapped one present......

Wish me luck.

So a way to get rid of knitter's block:

Count down the days until you need a certain amount of gifts.

Try to knit one gift a day.

Decide an order, like Oldest to Youngest, or opposite. Or maybe people who you are most closely related to the ones furthest away on your family tree!

Keep knitting. Don't stop. Even if you don't know what to knit, cast on, and start knitting!

I hope that list helps! Merry Christmas! (Will probably post on Christmas!)

As Meep mention in the last post (as hard as it is to believe ;) it's December! In the KAA club we're getting really busy knitting Christmas presents! I just made up a pattern for a really warm Ear-warmer that I wanted to share with everybody!

CAST ON (CO): 20 stchs.
KNIT: until the piece messures 20-23 in. long.
BIND OFF (BO)
Now you have to sew it together!
FIRST fold the whole thing in half long ways. Then sew that! Not your Ear-warmer will be very thick!
Now, just sew the two ends together, and then Tada! You have an Ear-warmer! So that's my pattern! Comment if you try it out! Tell me how yours goes!Betta Sharkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176234405620165288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6983468364771259258.post-47686417310131079922010-12-02T17:43:00.000-08:002011-01-23T12:08:13.067-08:00December!Hey everyone! as you all know it's December! Sorry we haven't posted in a few days, Meep and I have been kind of busy. ;) I'm making a black cat right now for my niece for Christmas! It's going to look just like my real cat, whom she loves. :) And for her new-born sister, Meep is helping me make a Blanket! The blanket is going to be difficult, because it has triangles in it! The next challenge might have something to do with triangles so watch out! For the older sister's next birthday I'm going to give her an orange cat to go with her black one :D I don't know what to give my Fluffy dog though! Comment with any ideas!
We're knitting Stuffed animals for a bunch of people, hats for some, slippers, and even trying some new patterns! I have a challenge for anybody reading this post! The challenge is:

Knit at least one thing for a friend or family member as a gift.

Theres a time limit! You have to make the gift before Christmas.

Also find some creative way of wrapping your gift! Don't use normal wrapping paper, or bags!

Post a comment about what you made, how you wrapped it, and what YOU think the person's reaction will be! Then later you could post what the reaction really was. ;)

Well that's our first (maybe only :P) Knit An Adventure challenge! Have fun!Betta Sharkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176234405620165288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6983468364771259258.post-60251959285098868842010-11-15T19:03:00.000-08:002010-11-16T05:53:16.905-08:00Knitty Kitty!!!

Ok! So this is the knitted kitty that we were talking about before! It took me about a day to make, its all in garter (knit(NORMAL)) stitch, so it should be easy! heres the instructions!! (THIS IS NOT MY PATTERN)

First you cast on 24 stitches
Knit in garter stitch for 52 rows then bind off
*you now have the body piece!! :D*

After that you cast on 12 stitches
Knit in garter for 14 rows
Knit 4 rows, knitting together the first 2 stitches of each row
^^(which means you take two stitches instead of one then continue to knit)^^
Then! knit 4 rows, adding 1 stitch at the beginning of each row
^^(look up increasing if you dont know how, its pretty simple!)^^
Once your done with all of that, knit 14 more rows then bind off
*thats the head piece!!!*

Once your done with all of that:
Cast on 12 stitches
Knit 7 rows
Bind off
*tail!!!* ;P

Here is the Website if you need instructions on how to hold the pieces!!
If you like knitting you've found the right blog! On this blog we'll post knitting patterns that we've found, and things that we've made. As you might have seen the two authors of this blog are: Me (KAT), and My best friend Meeeeeep (We will just call ourselves and each other, Kat, and Meep).

Right now we're working on STUFFED ANIMALS: They're not difficult, but they're not really easy either. Stuffie #1: Cats. Stuffie #2: Bird. Stuffie #3: Rabbits! These are the first animals Meep and I are planning to make. Meep has already completed her cat, and is working on the bird. I'm still working on the cat. We will get pictures and post them!! Along with the pattern! It's pretty simple, but it takes a while.

If you like knitting follow KAA, and join our club! HISTORY OF KAA: When meep, and I started knitting, we also wanted to start a knitting club. So we talked about it a bit more, and decided on the name KNIT AN ADVENTURE. We have not gotten any new members, so it is a two person club at the moment.

Well that's it for my first post!Betta Sharkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176234405620165288noreply@blogger.com0
