iPod holder: Part two! :)

I finished my iPod holder like five minutes before my iPod arrived! Here are some pictures:

The finished product from the outside seam.

The bottom seam.

Looking inside.  The strings are to tie it closed.

A side view.

Inside out.  I accidently made the lining way to small, and the shell way to big.  I had enough outer layer to double it on one side, to add padding.
Inside out, special colored lining.

So that is my iPod holder!!!

iPod Holder

I am getting an iPod touch soon, so I'm going to knit a special (well padded!!) case for it.

Because it would not be hard to break things in knit holder I'm going to knit the basic "shell" of the case first.  It's going to look nice, and be colorful, and stuff because it's the outside.  Then I'm going to knit a padding.  The padding will go on the inside of the case.  It doesn't matter whether or not it looks nice, it only has to be thick, and it has to b able to protect the iPod from harm.

The outside is going to be a pretty mixture of blues, purples, and blue-greens.  One of my favorite yarns.  It is not too thick, but isn't too thin either.
The inside is going to be a thick black that has other colors (Blue, Purple, and Green) in it.  Another of my favorites :)  I don't have very much of this color, so if I run out I'm going to use plain black.

I don't have an iPod touch yet, so I'm only guessing about how big this should be.  If it's too small it could be a cell phone holder.  I am using size 10 needles, my favorite size, but I believe you can use any size.

Ok, so lets start on the pattern.

1. Take color one (C1) and cast on (CO) 15 Stitches (ST) (remember we have to make this a little bit big so we can put the lining in.  Also remember that knit things can stretch.)
2. Knit for seven inches. (7")
3. Bind off (BO)
4. Cast on (CO) 13 Stitches (ST) of color two (C2).
5. Knit for knit fir six inches (6")
6. Bind off (BO)
7. Sew the lining onto the outside, then sew all but one side of the outside.
8. Add a button, or a tie to keep it closed, now you have an iPod holder!

Mother's Day.

I admit it.  Meep, and I have been very distracted lately, and haven't been posting.  So I'm going to try and see if we can get this blog going again.

My Dad had a weekend long class, and he had given a friend of his a bag of dog fur.  His friend had spun the fur, and given it back to him.
So when my Dad got home he snuck me the yarn.  He asked me to knit a scarf for my Mom for Mother's day.  So, on Mother's day MORNING I finshed the scarf.  And I also made a small bookmark for my Grandmother.
The pattern on the scarf was simple.

Easter Eggs! *CHALLENGE*

This month's challenge is not as simple as a few of the past ones have been.  Knit an Easter egg! I have never knit an Easter egg before, and I am not even sure if I have the right needles and stuff to make any.  So make try this out! If you can't make an Easter egg, for any reason, just make something spring themed! I want to hear what you make! Current Challenge ends: April 24th.

Almost done!

Remember the wallet I was making?  The original 36 stitches is the perfect size for my tank-top, if I make two of them! Then I'll just make straps. And I'll have a tank-top! Probably for dance.  So, how's the challenge going?  Has anybody done it yet?  Well I've gotta go.  Meeeeep is at my house, we're knitting a lot tonight! XP

I have decided to make a tank-top! And yes, I'm using my own pattern.  :)  Don't be surprised if Meep, nor I post for a while.  We're going away for the weekend, dance competition! Have fun knitting!

Need ideas? Me too!

I have some ideas for things to knit, but I'm not sure if they're good ones:

Shark stuffed animal
Book-cover (kind of like a book sock.)
iPod holder, with a hole to put a headphone cord through.
Tank top.  (I have same patterns, but I may end up making my own.(Tank top for dance))

Copy and paste my ideas into the comment section and then add marks like this:

**Shark stuffed animal**

If you like the idea, and this:

--Shark stuffed animal--

If you don't.  Thanks for your help!

"Electronic holder" *CHALLENGE*

Do you know somebody who can barely let go of their nintindo?  Or who would never part with their cell?  Or maybe you know a photographer, who takes their camera everywhere?  Well, now you can help them! Until March 19th we are going to challenge you to knit a holder for something electronic.  May it be an iPod case/cover, a cell phone holder, a case for a camera, or just a little purse where something like that can be held.  Good luck! Wallet *PATTERN!*

I was think about what I should knit.  I couldn't decide.  So I was looking through a knitting book I have and found a pattern for a wallet! Then I thought, hmm, I bet I can change this pattern a bit so I can make a really cool wallet! I have made a wallet before, but it was actually a failure.  It's completely awful, and the funny part about it is, I still have the wallet! So now I have a new pattern that I'm trying out, and I decided to give you a chance, too! My pattern may be a bit confusing, as it has a pocket for change.  I also add the abbreviations to all my patterns, and there meanings, so people can learn them if they don't know them!

Fishy! *Pattern!*

This is a pattern I altered.  Meep found a pattern online about how to make fish, and this is an altered version of the Angelfish! Very easy, and if you're looking to sell them they go fast! CA, and CB are optional.  You may use only one color, or you can knit stripes! I, personally, prefer to use two different yarns at once, then switch to two other yarns.

Animal Shelter Idea

Are there any animal lovers who would like to help animals, while knitting?  Well then you're reading the right post! An idea hit me last night.  A 4-H group in my area ask people for knit squares, then they make blankets for people in homeless shelters.  Now I'm the kind of person who cares more about animals than about humans..... So I didn't really want to use up my yarn in this project.  I have.  So I came up with the idea of asking people to knit squares, any size.  I'll sew them together to make a blanket, and after we have a few blankets we donate to the animal shelter! If you know anybody in your area who knits ask them to help you! And it doesn't have to be for the animal shelter if you care more about people than animals.  Bye!
